About

I’m a frontend engineer with 9+ years of experience, most of it at Booking.com. I work where product meets platform: shipping customer-facing features end to end — shaping what to build with product and design, delivering it through experimentation, and owning it in production — and building the frameworks and architecture that let hundreds of other engineers do the same.

I’ve co-authored core parts of an in-house isomorphic micro-frontend platform, led the migration of the company’s largest product vertical to React and micro-services, and owned those services in production — SLOs, alerting, failovers. Alongside the code I spend a lot of time on architecture, mentoring, interviewing, and more recently on bringing AI meaningfully into the software development lifecycle.

After 8 years at Booking.com I took a year out to travel and reset — time to recharge and to see parts of the world I’d never otherwise have made room for. Since coming back I’ve been heads-down on AI-assisted development, exploring my own ideas and sharpening how I work. I’m ready for the next thing now, and looking for a team whose values I share.

Experience

Booking.com

2018 – 2025

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Senior Frontend Engineer II · Tech Lead

2023 – 2025
  • Integrated Webpack Module Federation into the in-house isomorphic micro-frontend framework used by 150+ engineers, removing major blockers to incremental modernisation of legacy stacks.
  • Led the migration of 50+ high-traffic web components to React and micro-services in the company’s largest product vertical, sequencing the work to keep experiments running and avoid a big-bang cutover.
  • Defined the target architecture for federated frontend services — how they interoperate with existing backend layers — and worked across teams to get buy-in.
  • Drove the team’s move to AI-assisted development: built the learning path, ran structured experiments on real workflows, and presented results and trade-offs to leadership.
  • Mentored engineers through architecture reviews, onboarding and internal talks; maintained shared libraries used across departments (isomorphic i18n, error reporting, TypeScript helpers).

Senior Frontend Engineer

2021 – 2023
  • Extended the micro-frontend framework to a second UI library (Vue.js): build, execution and distribution of components, a translation library covering 40+ languages, and integration with the internal A/B testing tool and GraphQL layer.
  • Owned the delivery path end to end — publishing assets to CDNs, application health metrics, and Kubernetes/Docker environments.
  • Ran micro-frontend services in production: dashboards, SLAs/SLOs, alerting policies, failovers and business continuity.
  • Wrote the platform documentation, community guidelines and migration guides, and interviewed frontend candidates across departments and seniority levels.

Frontend Engineer

2018 – 2021
  • Migrated the most business-critical page of the partner-facing product from a legacy Perl/Mason stack to Vue.js, coordinating the work across QA, backend and frontend.
  • Built shared components used by dozens of engineers and delivered features globally through A/B experiments, with responsive and accessible implementations.

BairesDev

2017

Remote

Software Engineer

  • Improved the browser performance of a large AngularJS application by prioritising user-facing interactions, then led its migration from AngularJS to Angular.

Rockett

2014 – 2017

Belo Horizonte, Brazil

Co-founder & CTO

  • Co-founded a startup building an easy-to-use website builder and reseller platform for small businesses in emerging markets.
  • Designed the architecture and built the product full-stack with AngularJS and Ruby on Rails.
  • Introduced product and technical metrics to lift conversion rates and understand platform usage.
